Media room offers more useful options
Room Darkening Shades
For your media room, it’s best to choose a room darkening blind or shade. Some of our window treatments are uniquely designed to minimize light gaps. Other considerations are fabric, material type, and color.
Duette® Honeycomb Shades with LightLock™ are a popular option for media rooms. These shades come in a wide selection of opaque, light-blocking colors.
The optional LightLock™ feature adds unique, U-shaped side channels, which overlap the front and back of the shades, and almost completely eliminate light gaps.
Shades That Filter Or Block Light
If you are looking for a window covering that can filter or block light, consider a Hunter Douglas shade with the Duolite® feature. Duolite® combines two fabric panels in a single shade: One of the fabric panels is made from a light filtering fabric and the other from a light blocking fabric. Both layers span the full width and height of the shade and can be moved independently.
Duolite® is available on:
- Vignette® Modern Roman Shades
- Duette® Honeycomb Shades
- Silhouette® Window Shadings
Innovative Drapery
A great option for media rooms with large windows and sliding glass doors are Luminette® Privacy Sheers. This innovative drapery combines a sheer fabric facing with opaque, vertical rotating vanes affixed to the back of the sheer.
When the vanes are open, the sheer fabric diffuses and disperses the sun’s rays into soft, natural light. Vanes can be rotated to direct light where you want it, for example, away from the TV. When the vanes are closed, the opaque fabric blocks the light from entering the room.
Room Darkening Blinds
If you like the look of blinds, many of our Hunter Douglas blinds come with the optional de-Light™ feature: The removal of the lift cord rout holes prevents unwanted spots of light from leaking through and allows for tighter slat closure.
The de-Light™ feature is available on:
- Modern Precious Metals® Aluminum Blinds
